VideoStation is a film and video transfer company founded in the UK during the late 1970's when we used telecine machines such as the Rank Cintel (Picture right).

VideoStation was the first to use a professional film transfer machine to transfer 8mm movie film for production use. Back then we were converting films for productions on David Niven, Sir John Mills, Peter Cooke, Lonnie Donegan and many other famous people of years gone by.

One of the first professional projects was to convert the home movies of the late Sir John Mills for a UK production "Moving Memories" and later home movie footage to be used in documentaries on Anne Frank, Dad's Army and The Beatles.
VideoStation pioneered and developed a specialised gate to facilitate the transfer of small format film known as the V3 and is now the industry standard for all modern film transfer equipment. Before this it could only be done with old fashioned projectors and cameras. ​

In 2009 the company moved to New Zealand and set up a vintage film restoration service and videotape transfer service in the city of Christchurch. After the devastating earthquakes in 2011 VideoStation was forced to move premises and settled in the North Canterbury township of Kaiapoi.

Today VideoStation transfers countless footage for film archives, production companies, museums, plus of course the general public not only in New Zealand, but Australia, USA, UK and the rest of the world.
